video causes app to freeze

The recent update has made this app unusable. First time I opened it it asked me to create a login. I was hesitant but did it anyway and I immediately got an error unable to create a new account. Ok so I was able to skip that step but then noticed all the news articles start auto playing a video and it causes the screen to freeze and hang. I read these articles in bed at night and I dont want to wake up my husband when a video starts automatically playing. This used to be my favorite source of local news but now Im deleting this app.
